South African Benchmarking Initiative
 South African benchmarking initiative

ECRSA has embarked on a project to provide the South African FMCG market (Retailers & Manufacturers) with relevant benchmark information by utilising the Global Commerce Initiative (GCI) score-carding process and tools. (http://www.globalscorecard.net/)

Process:
The process involves conducting a workshop with key stakeholders within the company, whereby a workshop is held to determine where the company ‘scores’ itself against pre-defined questions covering, Demand, Supply, Enablers and Integrators. Following the workshop we then ask for the GCI Key Performance Indicators to be completed. ECR South Africa will prepare a report for the company, highlighting opportunity areas for improvement as well as providing comparative benchmark data on key areas.

Benefits:
The benefit of this on-going exercise will be to build a credible South African FMCG benchmark database, that can be used to compare against, regional and global benchmarks.

To date three manufacturing companies have participated; another three have already booked workshops.
